THE 20th DREAM OF DR. SARDONICUS FESTIVAL

The 20th Dream festival takes place, as always, in Cardigan's Cellar Bar - from Friday evening through to Sunday evening, August 2-4. Pete Bingham has been busy booking some great bands while I have the cushy job of gathering contents for the free Fruits de Mer goodie-bag and raffle.

The poster on the left gives you the rundown on the artists who will be playing, with the legendary Man headlining on the Saturday night and Astralasia/Mushroom (two bands for the price of one!) closing the festival on Sunday; Moon Goose return after their brilliant set at the 18th Dream festival, Custard Flux will be flying in from the USA, Pinhdar from Italy and The Fertility Cult from Finland - making it a truly international event.

Kris Needs and Nina Walsh will be back spinning some serious (and not so serious) vinyl, DJ Benway will be taking time off from running the Mantle Brewery to play a set and DJ Astro will fly in from Finland to do the same!

SPWCI and Reuben's Daughters are two Welsh bands who'll be playing a Sardonicus festival for the first time.

Once again, the weekend is sponsored by the mighty Record Collector magazine, who are contributing some very welcome publicity for the event as well as some juicy giveaways in the free raffle.

There's even a free pre-festival gig in the Cellar Bar for everyone on the Thursday night, with Alain Pire making the trip from Belgium to play a solo set!

Pete is selling tickets direct from Sendelica's bandcamp page - book early BUY THEM HERE ...and then get your accomodation sorted, to be on the safe side - Cardigan can get quite busy in the summer.

If you've not been to a Dr. Sardonicus festival before, check out the 19th Dream page (www.fruitsdemerrecords.com/19thdream.html) to get a feel for our last event - it's really relaxed, friendly and fun; it's all held in the Cellar Bar, opposite Cardigan Castle, in the middle of the town with no more than 150 tickets ever sold; there's hot food for sale throughout if you want it, great local beer from the Mantle Brewery, lots of records and the infamous £5 FdM t-shirts for sale in the upstairs cafe - including our festival exclusives/specials and many from the bands but - most all - there's three days of great live music.

The 2024 FdM free goodie-bags (FREE for everyone attending) will contain TEN CDs include 'Stalking The Wily Chub', the last in the series of Todd Dillingham exclusive compilation CDs that have been put together in his memory by his brother Mick, the first release on CD of 'A New Jerusalem' by Bruce Hendrickson and The Blue Giant Zeta Puppies, exclusive new compilations from Alain Pire, Astral Magic, Incubus Lovechild, The Telephones and exedra, a back-catalogue CD from Computerchemist, a Lemon Clocks comp of previously-unreleased tracks, a copy of the promo CD for Marco Rossi's 'The Sincerest Form Of Flattery' album along with a download code for the Floorian album 'What The Buzzing' (you might remember Floorian from our 'Birds Of A Feather' compilation)
Meanwhile, although she won't be able to attend this year due to a clash with her rock star nephew's wedding, Liz is busy putting together contents for her 'reluctant partners' goodie-bag (it even includes a double CD!!!) AND - in a radical change with tradition - we're going to try to do most of our vinyl selling from the FdM stall on the Saturday, with t-shirts, the FdM free lucky dip and raffle on the Sunday, meaning there'll be a bit less pressure on vinyl junkies to queue outside The Cellar Bar for two days running, given Cardigan's less-than-predictable weather (and we can spend a bit more time watching the bands!).

LATEST NEWS: Sugarbush Records have come up with a tasty selection of back-catalogue LPs for our free raffle
