Jade are rightly regarded as one of THE cult progressive folk-rock bands of the early 70s; hugely collectible, their sole album ‘Fly On Strangewings’ was a pinnacle of the era.
MARIANNE SEGAL had a great voice and wrote equally strong songs, but the band never really took off.

Now, backed by a cast of musicians that includes members of the legendary UK freak folk band Circulus, Root Cartwright - leader of '70s psychedelic progressive folk legends Principal Edwards Magic Theatre - and Bill Steer of Firebird/Napalm Death (check out the track ‘Root People’!), Marianne presents a beautiful album of new songs.

Absorbing the classic elements of 1970s British folk rock within a more contemporary sound the album is a worthy follow up to Jade's 1970 album. Whilst an early version of ‘The Gathering’ was self-released by Marianne nearly 20 years ago on CD, this new edition has been remastered and remixed with additional music and brand new artwork for release by Fruits de Mer as a 300-run LP.
