Not Of This World 2
on sale mid-April
JUST TO PROVE THERE'S NOTHING NEW...
Last year I released 'Not Of This World', a little collection of 'spacey' music from 1962 (and therefore conveniently out of copyright) that sort of invoked the spirit of The Tornados' 'Telstar', although I'd like to think it was all a bit more interesting, or at least more obscure.
I'm no expert on the genre - or even what the genre is - but I got some really good feedback from people who heard the first selection, so I've come back with more.
There are four 'songs' on this new 7" EP - from The Space Walkers, The Tarantulas, Comrade X and Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, along with a little intro from Spike Jones. The recording by Johnny Watson (known as Young John Watson at the time) sets a new FdM record by being the oldest recording I've released, dating from 1954 - before I was born (but only just!)
There'll be a random mix of black, white, red and clear vinyl.
More news soon - copies will only be offered to people on an FdM mailing-list and there'll be some sort of lucky draw to determine who gets a chance to buy a copy as it's likely to be seriously oversubscribed - once again, there'll only be 61 copies cut.
More news soon.
