A new band for Fruits de Mer, we met up at our summer festival in 2024 where they played a blinding set, Behind The Sun Collective defy genres - mixing psychedelia with jazz drum vibes, grunge guitars, throbbing bass lines and soundscapes from deep space.
They bring all this to two classic tunes – Marc Bolan’s ‘Children Of The Revolution’ and Funkadelic’s ‘Maggot Brain’ – you might be surprised, but you won’t be disappointed.
For 'Revolution', Behind The Sun Collective were joined in the studio by Dandelion Florence on vocals.
Cos: Bass, Vocals
Shep: Synths
Kev: Drums
Andi & Robert: Guitars
Dandelion: Lead Vocals
‘Children of the Revolution’ reached no.2 in the UK charts in September 1972,: Marc was joined by Elton John and Ringo on the original recording (they don’t reappear on this one)
The original ‘Maggot Brain’ ran to over 10 minutes; it was recorded in 1971 in one take when George Clinton, under the influence of LSD, told guitarist Eddie Hazel during the recording session to play as if he had been told his mother was dead.
